African music Queen, Tiwa Save pulls out of her performance at the upcoming DSTV delicious Festival in Johannesburg South Africa, to protest what she called ‘barbaric butchering’ of Nigerians and other African Nationals allegedly by South Africans.

The singer who is the biggest female artist on the African continent was due to headline the festival but decided against it on Wednesday morning, just weeks before the concert.
Tiwa Savage took to her social media page on Wednesday 4th September 2019, to post this message to condemn the ongoing Xenophobic act in South Africa, saying:

“I refuse to watch the barbaric butchering of my people in SA. This is SICK. For this reason, I will NOT be performing at the upcoming DSTV delicious Festival in Johannesburg on the 21st of September. My prayers are with all the victims and families affected by this” she said.

A lot of people mostly are fans all over the African continent and overseas have applauded her move, while a few have also condemned her (a few angry South Africans), saying she should have used the opportunity to spread love between Nigerians and South Africans by attending the Festival in South Africa. But why would any sensible person be celebrating while other Africans who made you what you are, are being killed, their businesses destroyed and properties looted? definitely not Tiwa Savage, which is why I believe, she took this painful but necessary stand.

There are no words yet from the organisers of the Festival, but Tiwa Savage message is coming a few hours after another Nigerian and biggest African musical export Burna Boy ‘African Giant’ called out his South African friend AKA, and threatened him for allegedly promoting Xenophobia in South Africa against Nigerians. He also cancelled South Africa, saying he will never visit the country until the South African President performs a miracle to end Xenophobia. #tiwasavage  #tiwa  #burnaboy  #burna
