Paris Saint Germain has confirmed that Neymar will be out for ten weeks, and likely to miss the UEFA Champions League round of 16 clash against Manchester United after suffering a metatarsal injury.
PSG while confirming this news, said Neymar will not be undergoing an operation after the club gathered world-renowned medical experts at the Ooredoo Training Centre to carry out a thorough review of the injury to his right foot.
Neymar sustained the injury against RC Strasbourg in the Coupe de France round of 16 match on 23 January and this will not be his first, but first for this year, and since his sister’s birthday is still some months away, he could be back earlier than expected….so, United fans, you might want to hold on to those cheering…lol…he could be back for the second leg game…
PSG in their statement said:
“After detailed analysis by the specialists, a consensus was reached of a conservative treatment of Neymar Jr.’s injury to the fifth right metatarsal. Informed of this recommendation, Paris Saint-Germain’s Brazilian international striker agreed with this protocol. As a result, he is expected to return to the field within ten weeks.
Paris Saint-Germain sends its strongest support and encouragement to him to overcome this injury, with the courage and determination that the player has always shown.”
