The First Lady of Nigeria, Mrs Aisha Buhari has joined other family members and friends to celebrate the President of Naval Officers Wife Association (NOWA), the wife of Chief of Naval Staff, Hajiya Nana Gambo, on the occasion of her birthday.

Hajiya Nana Gambo who added a year to her age, received a special birthday message from Mrs Aisha Buhari on Tuesday 5th October 2021.

Hajiya Nana Gambo is the 21st President of NOWA who during her inauguration, pledged to keep the vision of the association alive.

Hajiya Nana Gambo is the 21st President of NOWA and took over from the wife of the former Chief of Naval Staff, Ibas, on the 27th of February, 2021.

Nana Gambo who attributed her emergence to the will of God, solicited the support of the members of the association to deliver on the mandate of improving a lot of the Nigerian Navy family.

According to her, “this association has an exciting future, to empower women to enable them to add value in the society. We will embark on policies and programmes that will continue to empower women. We will take NOWA to the next level. Our schools will remain the best in the country, we will continue to support our husbands to succeed”.

She commended her predecessor for her commitment to the welfare of the association while promising to carry everyone along in the task of strengthening the association.

On October 1st 2021, Nana Gambo in showing her support to the “Project Zero Hunger” a team consisting of the Commissioner for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons, where Hajiya Imaan Ibrahim, the President of Defence and Police Officers’ Wives Association, Mrs Victoria Irabor, along with the President of the Nigerian Airforce Officers Wives Association Mrs Elizabeth Amoo and her humble self paid a visit to the Nigerian Army 44 Reference Hospital Kaduna on the 61st Independence day of Nigeria.

According to her, the visit was in continuation of the partnership with the Commission to support military personnel who have been wounded in action.

Consequently, medical equipment were donated to the hospital. The equipment donated comprised of Manual and Automatic wheelchairs, the 4 in 1 integrated Beneheart D3 defibrillators and monitors, interlocking nail sets for fixing fractured bones and many more were also donated.

To receive this item on behalf of the beneficiaries was the Acting Commander of the Hospital, Colonel Ndidi Onuchuckwu.
