The President of World Football Governing body FIFA, Gianni Infantino, as part of his working visit to Nigeria, on Thursday, paid a courtesy visit to President Muhammadu Buhari at the Aso Villa.
Gianni Infantino during his visit to the Nigerian State House Abuja on Thursday 16th September 2021, presented President Muhammadu Buhari with a number 10 jersey and a football.
The FIFA President came in company with his African counterpart, Patrice Motsepe, and the Minister of Sports, Sunday Dare, was also present.
Gianni Infantino who is in Nigeria to officially declare open the Aisha Buhari Cup tournament in Lagos on Wednesday, also paid a courtesy call to Governor Sanwo-Olu of Lagos state.
The Aisha Buhari Invitational Women Football Tournament kicked off on Wednesday with hosts, Super Falcons of Nigeria defeating Mali in the opening match in a game played at the newly remodelled Mobolaji Johnson Arena, formerly Onikan Stadium, Lagos.
Among dignitaries at the stadium to watch the teams were Lagos State Governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, FIFA President, Gianni Infantino, CAF President, Patrice Motsepe, FIFA Secretary, Fatma Samoura, and other world football personalities.
