Opebi: Helicopter Crashes Into A Building In Lagos

At least two people have been confirmed dead, as helicopter crashed into a private home in Opebi area of Lagos State.

According to the Lagos State Emergency Services, aside from the two people that were killed in the crash in Opebi, an adult male who was said to have been badly injured in the crash, was rescued and taken to LASUTH for further treatment. The dead bodies have been deposited at the mortuary.

Speaking on the Opebi crash, the leader of the Lagos State Emergency Services team, DG/CEO, Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu while addressing reporters at the scene, said the incident happened at No 16A Salvation Road Opebi, Lagos.

“On the arrival of the Agency’s combined Response Team, it was observed that there was a helicopter crash. Further investigation gathered revealed,” he said.

Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, giving further details on the helicopter, said it was a Bell Helicopter 206B3, belonging to Quorum Aviation Ltd. The crashed he said happened at 12 pm.

No further details were given as at the time of this report.
