President Yoweri Museveni, has been declared the winner of the just concluded Presidential election in Uganda. The result which was announced by the Electoral Commission on Saturday, means Yoweri has now won a 6th term as President of the East African country.
President Yoweri Museveni defeated his main rival Bobi Wine to continue his 35-years reign as President of Uganda for a record, 6th term and at age 76.
According to the Electoral Commission in Uganda, President Yoweri Museveni won almost 59% of the vote in the Presidential election, with Mr Bobi Wine trailing with about 35%.
While the results have been rejected by opposition parties, especially Bobi Wine, the Electoral Commission at its press conference, denied all the allegation of fraud, saying there was no such thing as vote-rigging in Thursday’s poll.
No official statement yet from Bobi Wine, as we expect him and others to make a statement reacting to the just announced results.
