The First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr Aisha Muhammadu Buhari has expressed her sadness over the death of Hajiya Aishatu Tafawa-Balewa, who was the wife of Nigeria’s first and only Prime Minister, Alhaji Sir Abubakar Tafawa-Balewa.
Mrs Aisha Buhari in a statement released by her Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Aliyu Abdullahi, described the death of the 85-year-old matriarch Hajiya Aishatu Tafawa-Balewa as a loss not just to her family, but the people of Bauchi state and the nation as a whole.
The first lady expressed her heartfelt condolences to the grieving family of the late Prime Minister and prayed to God to grant them the fortitude to bear the loss.
The late Hajiya Aishatu Tafawa-Balewa died in Lagos on Sunday, 27th October 2019, and her body has since been laid to rest in Bauchi State.
